The Activists’ Coalition on TB Asia-Pacific (ACT!AP) and APCASO successfully implemented the long term capacity strengthening of TB community networks under the Community Engagement Strategic Initiative (CE SI) of the Global Fund from 2024 to 2026. The project was implemented in collaboration with three country partners; Association of People Living with HIV (APLHIV) in Pakistan, Mongolian Anti-TB Coalition (MTC) in Mongolia and Trishuli Plus (TP) in Nepal.
The primary objective of the project was to strengthen the capacities of TB survivors and key population to engage in Global Fund and related national processes. Based on consultations with TB-affected communities in these countries, an urgent need was identified for a network to represent the voices of those affected by TB in the national TB response and decision-making spaces. This need led to the establishment of three national TB networks; Activists’ Coalition on TB Mongolia (ACT!MN), Activists’ Coalition on TB Pakistan (ACT!PK) and Activists’ Coalition on TB Nepal (ACT!Nepal).
This publication captures the experiences and stories of communities that have been part of the TB network journey. It documents the lessons learned and challenges faced in strengthening community engagement within the national TB response. These stories are a reflection of communities that, despite facing challenging situations, remain resilient and continue to fight for a seat at the table to ensure that decisions made about them include them. These are stories of persistence and the unwavering human spirit that keeps us all going.
