People’s Vaccine Alliance (PVA) Asia, hosted by APCASO, has sponsored Center for Indonesia’s Strategic Development Initiatives (CISDI) from November 13 to 14 at the Primary Health Care Forum held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Marking the fifth year since the Astana Declaration on Primary Health Care was adopted, the event showcased PVA’s VR film focused on vaccine equality aligned with one of our principles, “Never Again”. The film represents the impact of insufficient vaccine access during the pandemic, particularly affecting people in middle-low income countries. Our goal was to raise awareness on vaccine inequality and pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response (PPPR) among the attendees.
For the past two days, over 100 people went to see our VR film and provided valuable feedback. Many participants mentioned that it was their first time using the headset and they felt immersed in the narrative, empathized with those who lost their lives and loved ones during the pandemic. Several attendees acknowledged that the film prompted ongoing repercussions of COVID-19, even though it is no longer classified as a global pandemic. They emphasized the importance of being prepared for future challenges, as the lesson learned from this crisis should not be forgotten.
