APCASO is thrilled to announce the launch of the REGENERATE Leadership & Learning Institute on Gender Justice and Sexual Rights (GJSR). The inaugural training, taking place from June 15-20, 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand, brings together over 35 dynamic civil society and community changemakers from 9 countries across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Institute will serve as a center for excellence, providing leadership development, educational resources, and operational guidance to enhance the understanding and implementation of GJSR in the context of health programs across the region. Advocates will be equipped to engage and sensitize duty bearers on GJSR—ultimately promoting the adoption of GJSR affirmative approaches into country health programming.
“Attending the First REGENERATE Leadership & Learning Institute offers a unique opportunity to learn, unlearn, and reimagine systems of care, resilience, and leadership alongside peers from across the region,” shared Manisha Meem Nipun, Patchola Foundation, Bangladesh.
Held during Pride Month, a global celebration of visibility, dignity, and resistance for LGBTQIA+ communities, this training boldly affirms the right to health and equity for key and vulnerable women and girls and people of diverse sexuality, issues at the core of the REGENERATE Initiative.
“Launching this training in June is no coincidence,” said RD Marte, Executive Director of APCASO. “Pride is not just a celebration, it’s a commitment to justice. We strive to equip communities with the tools, skills, and expertise to challenge oppressive systems and reimagine inclusive health for all.”
