Activists’ Coalition on TB – Asia-Pacific (ACT! AP) welcomes its new Co-Chairs

April 2024 – ACT! AP welcomes its new Co-chairs for the term 2024-2026: Choub Sok Chamreun, Executive Director of KHANA, and Dr. Bazarragchaa Tsogt, Research and Innovation Lead of the Mongolia Anti-TB Coalition (MTC). This took place a few months after ACT! AP selected its new Steering Committee (SC) members through a thorough selection process that started in December 2023. The new SC members of ACT! AP are: Choub Sok Chamreun (Cambodia), Bazra Tsogt (Mongolia), Daniel Marguari (Indonesia) Gopa Kumar (India), Achut Sitaula (Nepal), Lesley Bola (Papua New Guinea), and RD Marte (Thailand).

Chamreun, who has been serving as Co-Chair since 2016, will complete his final term with utmost dedication to the coalition.

I sincerely appreciate the trust that the new SC has vested in me as their Co-Chair for one last time. My vision for ACT! AP remains steadfast and I am confident that with the support of the new SC, we will end TB in Asia-Pacific.

Dr. Tsogt shares this same enthusiasm, being a new member of the SC.

I really thank my SC colleagues for nominating me as their Co-Chair. I will do my very best given the increasing attention towards the needed support to end TB in Mongolia. I am happy to be part of this group of dedicated activists!

Bazra Tsogt

Co-Chair, ACT! AP

RD Marte, regional convenor of ACT! AP as it continues to be hosted by APCASO, looks forward to the new ACT! AP SC and their commitment as they review its internal procedures and develop their new Regional Strategy in light of the 2023 UN Political Declaration on TB.

Our partners would always say, ‘it’s time to end TB’. For us at ACT! AP, we cannot wait any longer for that time to actually happen – we need to make stronger commitments and bolder actions, otherwise we will miss this opportunity.
